5 bag lunch ideas  - no sandwiches here

One of the biggest ways to sabotage your diet is to eat out all the time. Packing a lunch takes time, and lets face it, sandwiches are boring after a while. Anything else seems to take too much time. Here are five bag lunch ideas that you can pack quickly.

Veggies and Hummus

hummus 812675 640Hummus is a delicious mediterranean dip that is often served with pita bread. You can buy it pre made or easily make your own. Check out my traditional hummus recipe here. Serve it with sliced peppers, snap peas and baby carrots.

Veggies and Nuts

raw veggies with nutsAdd a small handful each of raw walnuts and almonds to sliced peppers, snap peas and baby carrots (or your choice of raw vegetables). If you prefer your nuts a little crunchy, then keep the nuts separate.

Box/bag of salad with extras

Bring extras such as goat cheese, chick peas, sliced onions, avocado chunks, chopped nuts. Bring your salad dressing in a small jar or container. I like a simple combination of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Here is my favorite combination.

Greek yogurt with frozen berries and hemp seeds

Rather than buy yogurt with added sugar or artificial sweeteners, pack plain greek yogurt with your favourite frozen berries. Top with some hemp seeds for extra protein.
