health coach sherryWomen face many struggles when trying to keep themselves and their families healthy. It seems like just when you get a handle on things life throws you a new curveball. You face the challenges of keeping healthy during pregnancy, losing the baby weight and trying to feed a family with all the activities. Just when you think life is getting easier, you are faced with perimenopause and then menopause.

Many women try diets to lose the baby weight, or stop the menopause weight gain. Unfortunately for many diets don’t work. Diets don’t fit in with cooking for a family. They don’t address hormonal changes or food intolerances. They are usually difficult to follow when you have a normal life or they require that you purchase their food or supplements. Either way you don’t learn how to make lasting changes.

For as long as I can remember, I have been interested in the best ways to stay fit and healthy. I devoured books and websites on nutrition and fitness. The conflicting information was frustrating.

Of course, as a mother of two busy boys I have always wanted to keep my family healthy and happy. When my boys were young I decided to leave my job at a high tech company so I could spend more time with them. After quitting I decided to follow my passion and move to the fitness and nutrition industry. I decided some formal training in fitness and nutrition would help me decipher some of the information out there. I obtained a diploma in personal training and then studied nutrition coaching with Precision Nutrition. I still search out nutrition and fitness websites  and keep up with the latest information. 

I don’t believe that any change that matters can be made quickly. Weight loss is no different. There is no quick fix. Losing weight and keeping it off is a slow process that usually involves lifestyle changes. My programs introduce the changes you need at a pace that works for you. I have helped women of all ages lose weight and feel better about themselves.
